Three Weeks In Quarantine (2020)
During Summer 2020 I began working directly in video out of necessity and created Three weeks in Quarantine. These five videos are the tracing of a bodily habit through space during the first lockdown. In this work the camera returns to specific spaces, focusing on particular objects and architecture - such as radiators, bottles, and columns - their repetition reinforcing their quotidian yet ambiguous nature.
Some parts of the videos became loops for a project called #Microcosm executed by the City of Ottawa's Public Art Department. More information on that can be found here and here
There is a longer artist statement-cum-theoretical text at the bottom of the page.
Titles distributed by Vtape. Contact for distribution directly: Distribution and Technical Coordinator Dustin Lawrence [email protected]
